It's coming fast. The Block of Art 2012 will soon be here and will feature all the attractions you've come to expect and more. Each year, downtown Pottsville transforms its indoor spaces into a premier gallery walk, multiple indoor venues, arts exhibits, performances, and workshops, as well as outdoor music and events. Several hundred works of art will be on display and for sale, including paintings, photographs, jewelry, ceramics and sculpture from local, regional and international artists. Past displays also included pysanky eggs, stained glass, metal and wood working gemstones, theatre and much more. New this year is an art auction and a silent auction.
Block of Art is planned, organized and staffed by volunteers who are needed to host galleries, do online promotion for the event, drop off posters and distribute postcards, in addition to other tasks.
