Vehicles damaged in 2-car crash
MAR LIN - A 2000 Suzuki Vitara ran a red light near King's Village Shopping Center at 5:48 p.m. Tuesday, striking a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt, according to state police at Schuylkill Haven.
Hannah P. Sterling, 26, of Pottsville, was heading west on Route 901 when she failed to stop at a red light at and struck the vehicle of Michael R. Brennan, 21, of Pottsville, while driving across the road, police said.
Sterling drove through the red light, striking Brennan's left front bumper and tire, police said.
Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and had to be towed, police said.
There were no injuries as a result of the crash, police said.
Window broken at business
State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a burglary at the Carpet Man store, 1150 Route 61 South, in North Manheim Township between 5 p.m. May 16 and 8 a.m. May 17.
Police said someone smashed a large glass window at the front of the store and fled the area undetected.

Paint sprayed on building
TOWER CITY - A criminal mischief incident at the American Legion, 2 Clarks Valley Road in Porter Township, between 11 p.m. May 14 and 6 a.m. May 16 is being investigated by state police at Schuylkill Haven.
Police said someone spray painted the walls of the building with red and yellow paint.

Woman OK when car strikes pole
ORWIGSBURG - A 23-year-old Ashland woman escaped injury when the 1990 Pontiac 6000 she was driving crashed on Municipal Road, just west of Pinedale Industrial Road in West Brunswick Township, at 11:50 a.m. Monday, police said.
State police at Schuylkill Haven said Amber Menne was driving north on Municipal Road when she went off the road and struck a utility pole.
Menne will be cited for the crash, police said.
Orwigsburg EMS assisted at the scene.
Car damaged with object
DEER LAKE - State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a criminal mischief incident at 116 Maple Blvd. between 2 p.m. Saturday and 7 p.m. Sunday.
Police said Diane Squyres reported someone damaged the driver side of her 1997 Oldsmobile Achieva with a blunt object while it was parked in her driveway and fled the scene.
Damage is estimated at $300, police said.

Shenandoah man faces charges in crash
SHENANDOAH - An 18-year-old Shenandoah man was charged Monday with numerous offenses after the 2000 Chevrolet Malibu he was driving crashed on Route 924, just south of Herald Road in Mahanoy Township, at 10:55 p.m. May 11.
State police at Frackville said James Onisick was driving south on Route 924 when he entered the left lane at a high rate of speed but crossed into the northbound lanes and back into the southbound lanes. The car again crossed the northbound lanes and went off the road where it hit an embankment and became airborne over a large ditch and struck a second embankment.
After hitting that embankment, the car overturned several times, coming to a stop on its roof, police said.
Shenandoah firefighters and police assisted in getting Onisick out of his car. He was treated at the scene by Shenandoah EMS and taken to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, in the Life Flight helicopter, police said.
At the scene, police said Onisick had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath.
Charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance and numerous traffic violations were filed against Onisick, police said.
Man accused of stealing bicycles
TAMAQUA - Borough police arrested a 20-year-old man and charged him with stealing bicycles on May 14.
Police said Richard Sidle Jr., whose address was not listed, will have to answer to charges of theft, receiving stolen property and loitering and prowling at night before Magisterial District Judge Stephen J. Bayer.
Police said Sidle stole three bicycles valued at $30 from a home at 108 Schuylkill Ave. but later returned them.
Copper stolen from 2 homes
SHENANDOAH - Borough police are investigating two incidents involving the theft of copper from two homes.
Police said Michael Van Allen, Mahanoy Plane, reported to police on May 15 that someone had broken into his property at 1026 W. Coal St. using a prying tool to open the basement door on the building's south side. The person or persons cut all the copper pipe and wiring from the basement and first floor.
Police said the entire home is currently gutted to the beams and is under reconstruction by the owner, starting with the wiring and plumbing. Estimated value of the stolen property is $3,000, police said.
The second theft was reported May 20 by owner Adam Lizbinski, Drums, at his rental property at 522 W. Arlington St. Someone broke into the home between May 18 and 20 and removed about 50 feet of copper tubing. The value of the stolen and damaged property is $500.
