A Schuylkill Haven man went to prison Wednesday after admitting in Schuylkill County Court that he had improper contact with a girl in February 2011 in his hometown.

Cody L. Moyer, 25, must serve three to 23 months in prison, pay costs and $50 to the Criminal Justice Enhancement Account, submit a DNA sample to law enforcement authorities and have no contact with his victim under the terms of Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin's sentence.

Moyer pleaded guilty to corruption of minors and simple assault. Pursuant to their plea agreement with Moyer, prosecutors dropped charges of unlawful restraint and harassment.

Schuylkill Haven borough police charged Moyer with assaulting the 11-year-old girl on Feb. 27, 2011, in the borough.

Dolbin included in the no-contact provision a requirement that Moyer stay 500 feet from the victim's house.

"When I say no contact with the victim, I mean absolute zero," including no texting and no cards, Dolbin warned Moyer.

Other defendants who pleaded guilty on Wednesday before Dolbin, the crimes they admitted committing and the sentences the judge imposed pursuant to plea agreements included:

John W. Archibald, 24, of Schuylkill Haven; two counts of disorderly conduct and one each of simple assault and harassment; two to 23 months in prison, $50 CJEA payment and $12.50 restitution.

Daniel L. Casey Jr., 26, of Schuylkill Haven; simple assault and criminal mischief; three to 23 months in prison, 12 months consecutive probation, $50 CJEA payment and $2,975.60 restitution. Prosecutors dropped a charge of harassment.

Marlene E. DeLauretis, 58, of Middleport; two counts of improper possession, sale, use or display of documents and one each of driving under suspension and operating vehicle without required financial responsibility; 12 months probation, $1,300 in fines and $50 CJEA payment. Prosecutors dropped a charge of driving unregistered vehicle.

Benjamin G. Dutcavich, 22, of Schuylkill Haven; theft and criminal trespass; 23 months probation, $100 in CJEA payments, drug and alcohol evaluation, 20 hours community service and submission of a DNA sample to law enforcement authorities. Prosecutors dropped a charge of loitering and prowling at nighttime.

Brandon L. Erb, 27, of Pottsville; simple assault, disorderly conduct, harassment and criminal mischief; time served to 12 months in prison with immediate parole, $200 in fines, $50 CJEA payment and $141.99 restitution. Prosecutors dropped a charge of criminal trespass.

Alberto Gonzalez Jr., 28, of Girardville; defiant trespass and prohibited offensive weapon; sentencing deferred pending preparation of a presentence investigation.

Helene C. Grutza, 36, of Barnesville; retail theft and driving under the influence; one month and three days to 18 months in prison, $1,000 fine, $300 payment to the Substance Abuse Education Fund, $50 CJEA payment, $60 restitution to Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street, 10 hours community service and submission of a DNA sample to law enforcement authorities.

Emilio S. Jack, 21, of Pottsville; DUI, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, accident involving death or personal injury, driving under suspension and disregarding traffic lane; 72 hours to six months in prison, 18 months consecutive probation, $1,225 in fines, $4,552.59 restitution and 10 hours community service. Prosecutors dropped a charge of careless driving.

Stephen R. Kaszmetskie, 44, of Mahanoy City; three counts each of theft and receiving stolen property and two of criminal mischief; two to four years in a state correctional institution, $100 in CJEA payments, $5,902 restitution and submission of a DNA sample to law enforcement authorities. Prosecutors dropped a charge of criminal trespass.

Joel R. Kirby, 50, of Shenandoah; DUI; 48 hours to six months in prison, $500 fine, $100 SAEF payment and 10 hours community service. Prosecutors dropped a charge of careless driving.

Steven M. Miller, 20, of Pottsville; possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and criminal mischief; six to 12 months in prison, 11 months consecutive probation, $100 SAEF payment, $100 in CJEA payments and drug and alcohol evaluation. Prosecutors dropped charges of aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and pedestrian walking on highway.

Brandon Moyer, 24, of Pottsville; DUI and driving under suspension-DUI related; one to five years in a state correctional institution, $2,500 in fines, $100 SAEF payment, $60 restitution to Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street and 40 hours community service. Prosecutors dropped charges of selling or furnishing liquor to minors and failure to stop at red signal.

Michael H. Startzel, 28, of Tamaqua; 16 counts of access device fraud, five of theft by deception and one each of delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and conspiracy; four to 12 months in prison consecutive to current sentence, $1,000 in fines, $50 CJEA payment, $1,665.70 restitution, 20 hours community service and submission of a DNA sample to law enforcement authorities. Prosecutors dropped seven counts of receiving stolen property.

All defendants who pleaded guilty must pay costs as a part of their sentences.
