Man DUI on way
to DUI hearing
A New York man who was driving under the influence while traveling to Pottsville for a hearing on a previous DUI charge was placed in Schuylkill County Prison Friday, according to city police.
Christopher A. Rubino, 54, of West Babylon, N.Y., was scheduled to have a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge James K. Reiley at 10:30 a.m. Friday.
On April 27, Rubino was charged by city police for DUI and having a blood alcohol content more than three times the legal limit, police said.
Rubino arrived late to Friday's hearing, police said.
He was brought to the hearing by the state trooper who arrested him for DUI.
Due to Rubino's condition, the hearing was continued and a bail hearing was held instead. Reiley set bail at $20,000, police said.
