CONYNGHAM - A local resident became a millionaire July 7.
According to Rick Haent-jens, a Party Beverage employee, someone bought a winning Millionaire Raffle ticket from a Party Beverage located in Conyngham.
The ticket was bought on an online machine in the store for $20 and resulted in the customer winning $1 million, Haentjens said.
People who purchased the ticket had a 1-in-125,000 chance of winning the jackpot, according to the Pennsylvania Lottery's website. The website also mentioned that these were the best odds ever offered by a Pennsylvania Lottery for winning $1 million.
According to the website, players could not choose their own number and the eight-digit raffle numbers were assigned when the ticket was purchased. Only 500,000 Millionaire Raffle tickets were available for purchase and when the last one was sold, the game closed.
A Pennsylvania lottery spokesperson declined comment on who the winners were, and the list of winners on the website does not include the latest drawing.
