Gun club violate liquor law

TOWER CITY- Criminal charges were filed against the Orwin Gun Club for violations of the state liquor law.

State police and the Bureau of Liquor Enforcement conducted and investigation at Orwin Gun Club, Gun Club Road, Tower City, Oct. 19 and discovered illegal sales of liquor and malt or brewed beverages at the location and consumed on site. The sales took place between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m, Oct. 19. The report does not state who the liquor was sold to. An unnamned district enforecement officer from Allentown wrote the report, which does not state the amount of alcohol sold and consumed.

Man steals credit cards, identity

PINE GROVE - State police are investigating a theft that occurred between April and July 2011.

Michael Workman Jr., 23, Pine Grove residing with Gerald Workman, 72, stole two of Gerald Workman's credit cards and proceeded to make purchases of more than $15,000 at various businesses throughout the county and over the Internet.

Michael Workman Jr., was charged with theft, forgery, identity theft and other related charges.

Michael Workman Jr., turned himself in at district court in Tremont Monday and was arraigned. Bail was set at $15,000, but was not posted. Michael Workman Jr. was committed to county prison.
