Woman's identity

used in accounts

PINE GROVE - An identity thief stole a Pine Grove woman's personal information and started to open accounts in California, state police at Schuylkill Haven said Friday night.

The thief made two purchases at Victoria Secret which totalled $732.55. The crime was reported Nov. 6, police said.

The victim is Jill Armenise, 38.

Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 593-2000.

Mahanoy City men

to face charges

YATESVILLE - State police at Frackville said Friday night they filed mutiple charges, including burglary, against two Mahanoy City men who attempted to steal metal pipes from Schuylkill Energy Resources, Yatesville cogeneration plant, in Mahanoy Township Thursday.

Bobby Carnell, 31, and Jeffrey Reimard, 33, arrived at the plant at 12:10 p.m. Thursday in a 4-wheel drive vehicle. They drove over a 3-foot dirt embankment that plant operators put in place to block a little-used access road, police said.

Carnell and Reimard then drove on that access road, past a fence with signage which stated "Private Property - No Trespassing - Gate 3," police said.

Once on the grounds, they attempted to steal two sections of steel pipe lying on the ground. But they were caught by the plant's hired security personnel, who stayed with them until police arrived, police said.

Deer target taken

from property

LANDINGVILLE - A thief stole a 3D McKenzie-brand deer target from private property in South Manheim Township between Thursday night and Friday morning, according to state police at Schuylkill Haven.

The victim is Harvey Heckman, 49, of 1493 Schuylkill Mountain Road, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 593-2000.
