An arts and crafts store is coming to Fairlane Village mall.
Ashok Mehra, owner of the mall, said the deal is complete.
"We have a national tenant and we have signed the lease," he said Monday.
Mehra would not name store but said it is an "arts and crafts (store)" that will open "sometime in the middle of July." The lease is for "a very long time," he said.
While he did not provide the location of the store, according to the website for Levin Management Corp., the management leasing agent for the mall, a 22,042-square-foot section is open next to Kohl's. The site says a lease is pending for that space.
Declining to elaborate, Norwegian Township supervisors have speculated that Michaels, an arts and crafts store, could be coming to the mall.
The average size of a Michaels is 18,300 square feet of selling space, according to its website, www.michaels.com. There were 1,018 Michaels stores as of March 30, 2009, according to the company.
Jerry Farro, an inspector for Norwegian Township, said the mall submitted plans for a demising wall, which separates stores.
"It's in the space next to Kohl's," he said Friday.
Kohl's occupies 55,628 square feet of space in the mall and is expected to open soon.
