KLINGERSTOWN - A Klingerstown woman was featured on NBC's "The Dr. Oz Show" for her participating in "The Plan" by Lyn-Genet.

"One day, I was on the Dr. Oz webpage on Facebook and this pop-up window came up asking me if I would like to try The Plan by Lyn-Genet," Chrissy Morgan said. Lyn-Genet wrote a book and the show wanted to have some viewers try her 'plan' before the book was released this January."

Morgan said she filled out the information and clicked "submit," never thinking she would hear anything about it.

"The next day I got a call from Angela, the producer," Morgan said. "I was shocked when I got the call. She emailed me the three-day detox plan and I started it and every day I had to send in pictures of the scale to show my weight loss. By day three, I had lost 10 pounds."

Morgan said the plan isn't a diet, it's a plan to show people what foods they are reactive to and cause the individual to gain weight. She said some people are reactive to foods that are healthy, while Morgan, herself is reactive to yeast and sugar foods.

On Nov. 20, Chrissy and her friend, Karrie Shade, Fearnot, headed to the Big Apple for her appearance on "The Dr. Oz Show."

"I was scared to drive to New York City by myself so I took Karrie and my husband, Kenny, who is a truck driver, made sure he had a load going to New York so I could follow him there," Morgan said. "Driving in New York City is crazy. It was awesome to be in the city at that time. We drove by Macy's right over the big star for the Thanksgiving parade. We arrived in the city early and went to the "Today" show and watched the Kesha live concert, watched the ice skaters at Rockefeller Center and watched workers actually put the star on the top of the tree, which by the way, is so much bigger in real life. I was amazed by the size of it."

Morgan said when she went into the show, she had her own green room to relax in and prepare. She said there were five other women that also did "The Plan." Since Morgan lost the most weight, she made the cut and had to have her hair and make-up done.

"Dr. Oz and his staff were very nice," Morgan said. "I had my picture taken with him and received a T-shirt. This was definitely a once in a lifetime opportunity."

Since her experience with "The Plan" and her experience on the show, Morgan said Lyn-Genet has sent her a copy of the book and has emailed and talked to her. She wants to help Morgan and the others reach their goals.

Morgan planned to watch the show in her Klingerstown living room when it aired Jan. 7.

"I was a little nervous to see myself on TV, knowing that millions would be watching, but then my friend Karrie calmed me when she said, 'Only 100 or so will actually know you.' "
