Vicki Harman to run for state representative of 125th District

HEGINS - Vicki Harman, Hegins, announced she will seek election as a Democrat in the upcoming race for state representative for the 125th District while hosting a campaign kick-off event Sunday at the Hegins Fire Company Social Hall.

"During the past 25 years, I have been very active in Hegins Township," Harman said in a press release issued Thursday. "I was chairperson for Boy Scout Troop No. 662 for 11 years, coordinator of the Tri-Valley Food Closet for 25 years, Tri-Valley school board for 10 years and supervisor of Hegins Township for six years. I am currently secretary for Hegins Township. It has been a privilege to serve the people of Hegins Township. I am looking forward to possibly having the opportunity of serving the constituents of the 125th District as state representative."

Republican Mike Tobash is currently serving as state representative for the 125th District.

Harman said she is being endorsed by the Schuylkill County Democratic Committee.

"I also look forward to kicking off my election campaign so I can meet everyone in the 125th District and find out all of the issues that concern them and that need to be addressed if I am elected in November," Harman said.
