2 escape injury
in 2-vehicle crash
PORT CARBON - Borough police said two people escaped injury in a crash on Route 209 near Mill and East Washington streets about 5:30 p.m. Friday.
Police said Thomas J. Rossochacy Jr., 28, of Tuscarora, was driving a 2001 Dodge Dakota south when he lost control on the snow-covered road while rounding a curve and collided with a northbound 2010 Toyota Rav 4 driven by Gena M. Minrod, 44, of New Philadelphia.
Police said neither driver was injured and that Rossochacy was cited for driving at an unsafe speed and restraint system violations.
Orwigsburg man
cited in accident
DEER LAKE - An Orwigsburg man escaped injury when the 2003 Chevrolet Silverado he was driving crashed on Sculps Hill Road in West Brunswick Township at 7:20 p.m. Friday.
State police at Schuylkill Haven said Jeremy J. Wilson, 28, was driving north when he lost control causing the truck to go off the road, hit an embankment and overturn.
Wilson walked to his home and was not injured, police said, adding that the man will receive a citation as a result of the crash.
Haven man hurt
in SUV crash
AUBURN - A Schuylkill Haven man suffered minor injuries when the 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer he was driving crashed on Summer Hill Road in South Manheim Township at 5:49 p.m. Friday.
State police at Schuylkill Haven said Michael J. Bubeck, 18, was driving east when his SUV began to fishtail on the snow, spun 90 degrees and crossed the center line of the highway. The vehicle went off the road and hit a tree and then a junction box before spinning 180 degrees back across both lanes and coming to a stop in a cemetery, police said.
Bubeck, who police said will receive a citation as a result of the crash, was taken to Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street for treatment. Auburn EMS and firefighters assisted at the scene, police said.
Police probe crash
at intersection
ORWIGSBURG - State police at Schuylkill Haven investigated a crash that occurred at routes 61 and 443 in North Manheim Township at 5:23 p.m. Friday.
Police said Sarah A. Winter, 23, of Reading, was driving a 1998 Pontiac Sunfire south on Route 61 when she ran into the back of a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Gary Stauffer, 46, of Zionsville, who was stopped for a red light at the intersection.
Winter was taken to Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street for treatment of injuries she suffered while Stauffer was not hurt, police said, adding that Winter will receive a citation as a result of the crash.
Orwigsburg firefighters and EMS assisted at the scene.
Stink bomb
thrown in window
PORT CARBON - State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a criminal mischief incident that occurred between 5:15 and 5:25 a.m. Friday at 117 North St., Apt. 2.
Police said Kelly Ginther, Port Carbon, reported that someone broke a window with a brick and threw a stink bomb inside before fleeing the scene.

Drivers not hurt
in Rt. 61 collision
ORWIGSBURG - No one was injured when two vehicles collided on Route 61 in North Manheim Township at 12:08 p.m. Saturday.
State police at Schuylkill Haven said Giuseppe C. Giuffre, 30, of Pottsville, was driving a 2006 Ford Escape north on Route 61 when he failed to stop for a red light and struck the left front of a 2010 Cadillac Escalade being driven west on Route 443 turning left at the intersection.
Both drivers escaped injury, and police said that Giuffre will receive a citation for a red light violation as a result of the crash.
Hit-and-run
probed by police
ADAMSDALE - A hit-and-run incident that occurred on Adamsdale Road in North Manheim Township about 4 a.m. Saturday is being investigated by state police at Schuylkill Haven.
Police said someone was driving west on Adamsdale Road and tried to turn around. In doing so, the driver damaged a sign owned by The Nutty Pear restaurant and fled the scene.
