n Tower City: At a recent meeting, the Williams Valley school board heard parents Daniel and Tracey Snyder voice concern about the amount of time special education aides are allowed to spend with their son. Their main concern was that teacher's aide hours were cut. They said their son needs help during school hours and that additional help offered to him should not interfere with his extracurricular activities. Superintendent Donald Burkhardt, Ph.D., said the district did not cut any special education teacher's aide hours. The Special Education Department will contact the Snyders to ensure that their child is getting the help that he needs. Secondary Principal Chris Cooper said the high school will now require individuals picking up students during school hours to come into the office to sign them out. The board received end -of-season reports from the following coaches: Susan Davis, football cheerleader; Gary Fetterhoff, girls' soccer, and Seth Shuey, boys' soccer. Concerning student achievement, students Gary Diegert and William Schaeffer were presented certificates for high SAT scores. Diegert scored a 1200 while Schaeffer achieved 1300.
