MOUNT CARBON - The traffic signal mast arm knocked down in a traffic accident in North Manheim Township in January won't be replaced until March, Lisa Mahall, engineer and real estate director for Schuylkill County, said Wednesday.
The county is responsible for the maintenance of the light. Mahall said the company the county contracts with to repair its lights, Signal Service Inc., has it on order.
"As it looks right now, delivery of the mast arm will be in the end of March. Normally, Signal Service has a few of these in inventory, however, their last two were used elsewhere. It has been ordered, just waiting for delivery," Mahall said.
Early on Jan. 22, a truck owned by Weiner Iron & Metal Corp., Pottsville, knocked down the mast arm holding traffic lights on Route 61 at Mount Carbon Arch road in North Manheim Township, according to state police at Schuylkill Haven.
Temporary lights have been put up on poles for southbound traffic.
