Man arrested

for disturbances

TREMONT - A 29-year-old Lebanon County man was jailed Tuesday after being arrested in connection with an incident at the corner of Main and Pine streets at 1:19 a.m. Tuesday.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Floyd Freeman was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge James K. Reiley, Pottsville, on charges of persistent disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.

He was committed to Schuylkill County Prison unable to post 10-percent of $20,000 bail, police said.

Police said Freeman was consuming alcoholic beverages in the area, discarding empty cans of beer on the road and sidewalk and calling the Schuylkill County Communications Center numerous times without requiring emergency services.

Freeman, police said, also refused to leave the area despite being told to do so several times.
