Man escapes injury in 1-car crash
HAMBURG - A Dallas, Ga., man escaped injury following a one-vehicle crash Saturday on I-78 west near mile marker 30.6.
State police at Hamburg said the crash occurred as Geoffrey B. Schoolcraft, 22, of Dallas, Ga., was traveling west on I-78 behind a tractor-trailer and lost control of his 2005 Pontiac GTO.
Schoolcraft entered into the left lane then crashed into the middle barrier of I-78 that separates the east and westbound lanes.
After initial impact the vehicle spun counter clockwise striking the barrier again with the back left bumper, and after the second impact, was against the middle barrier facing east, still in the westbound lane, police said.
Schoolcraft was not injured, but his vehicle was towed due to disabling damage, police said.
Two-vehicle crash leaves no injuries
BARNESVILLE - Two women escaped injury following a two-vehicle crash at 8:10 a.m. Sunday on Route 54 in the area of the Lakeside Ballroom, 716 Barnesville Drive, in Ryan Township.
State police at Frackville said the crash occurred as a 2005 Toyota Camry, driven by Blair Hetherington, 17, of Ringtown, was traveling west on Route 54 and lost control on a snow covered road while rounding a right curve.
Hetherington's vehicle was then struck in the rear by a 1999 Chevrolet Blazer, driven by Elsie Donella, 26, of Mahanoy City, which was traveling east on Route 54, police said.
Hetherington will be cited for the crash, while Donella will be cited for driving with a suspended license, police said.
Neither the drivers was injured, but their vehicles were both towed from the scene, police said.
Ryan Township police were not working at the time of the crash, police said.
Man charged with possession
LYKENS - Tyler Jay Laudenslager, 21, of Lykens, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia following an incident at 4 p.m. Saturday on East Park Road, esast of Market Street.
State police at Lykens said that police observed indicators of drug activity and Laudenslager was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.
Charges were filed with the office of Magisterial District Judge Rebecca J. Margerum, Elizabethville, police said.
Woman injured in crash
LYKENS - Desirae A. Bohner, 19, of Gratz, sustained moderate injuries following a one-vehicle crash at 3:47 p.m. Sunday on Route 1013.
State police at Lykens said the crash occurred as Bohner was driving south on Specktown Road in the southbound lane.
Bohner then drove over slush on the road while going around a left curve and lost control of the vehicle, traveling off the road to the north and hitting a utility pole and road sign simultaneously, police said.
The vehicle then traveled back onto the road where it came to rest facing south, police said.
Bohner was transported to Penn State Milton Hershey Medical Center by Medic 6 and was charged for failing to drive at a safe speed, police said.
