MAHANOY CITY - A 40-year-old borough man was jailed after two separate incidents Thursday night and Friday morning.
Police Chief Mark Wiekrykas said David Rich, 532 W. South St., was cited for harassment and public drunkenness after officers were called to McGuire's Pub, 130 W. Centre St., on Thursday night and learned the man shoved owner Amanda McGuire into a wall during an argument.
After the incident, Wiekrykas said officers found Rich walking in the 400 block of West Market Street in an intoxicated state.
He was taken back to the police station, issued citations and then released to a friend at the 532 W. South St. address.
About 1:30 a.m. Friday, Wiekrykas said officers were called to 516 W. Market St. where Rich's girlfriend, Lisa Russell, reported the man threatened her with a knife.
Rich was found asleep in Russell's home and taken into custody with the knife described by the woman found inside one of his shoes, Wiekrykas said.
Rich was arraigned Friday by Magisterial District Judge Anthony J. Kilker, Shenandoah, on charges of terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another person.
He was committed to Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $50,000 bail set by Kilker and also on a violation detainer by Schuylkill County Adult Probation, Wiekrykas said. Rich will now have to answer to the charges at a preliminary hearing before Kilker.
