Body still not identified
The body found in the Schuylkill River near Route 61 and Mauch Chunk Street, Pottsville, on Saturday, remained without a confirmed identity as of press time Sunday night.
Schuylkill County Coroner Dr. David J. Moylan said his office is closer to establishing the identity of the male but the investigation continues.
It will not be released to the public until a family member claims the body, he said.
Pottsville Police Chief Joseph H. Murton V said the body was recovered about 2:15 p.m. Saturday after it was discovered by someone walking along the river.
